BEST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

One of the most cherished moments in my real estate journey occurred when I was acknowledged among the top three nationally at Belle Property. This recognition stands as a testament to the relentless hard work, dedication, and passion I have poured into my career. The real estate industry demands perseverance, and this accomplishment reflects the countless hours spent, the challenges overcome, and the unwavering commitment to excellence.

Receiving such an honour not only validates the countless late nights and early mornings but also serves as a reminder of the genuine relationships forged, the homes found for families, and the dreams fulfilled. It's more than just an accolade; it's a celebration of the trust my clients have placed in me and the enduring connections made in the process.

This achievement fuels my drive to continually improve, to provide unparalleled service, and to create exceptional experiences for those I work with. I am deeply grateful for the support of my clients, colleagues, and mentors who have played pivotal roles in this journey. Their belief in my capabilities has been a guiding light, propelling me toward this significant milestone.

WORST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

One of the most challenging moments in my real estate career occurred when a client's property tragically burned down during the settlement process due to an electrical fault in the roof. The situation was incredibly distressing, especially considering the owner was overseas at that time. I had the daunting responsibility of contacting the owner to deliver the devastating news, while also managing the emotional impact on both the seller and the buyer.

Over the course of a year, my poor seller and buyer navigated an arduous and stressful journey, jumping through numerous hoops as the transaction struggled to settle and sort itself out. The buyer, in particular, had to find temporary accommodation in the form of a rental property, adding further strain to an already challenging situation. The resilience displayed by both parties during this period was nothing short of remarkable.

Witnessing the toll it took on everyone involved, emotionally and financially, was heart-wrenching. Yet, amidst the adversity, there was a glimmer of hope. The perseverance of the seller, the understanding of the buyer, and the collective determination to see the transaction through eventually led to a resolution. While it was an incredibly trying experience, it served as a reminder of the importance of empathy, clear communication, and unwavering support during times of crisis.

In the end, the ordeal was a testament to the strength of human spirit and the power of collaboration. It reinforced my commitment to providing not only professional expertise but also genuine care and support to my clients, ensuring that they receive the guidance they need, especially in the face of unforeseen challenges.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT REAL ESTATE DURING YOUR CAREER?

In the course of my career, I've gleaned a profound understanding of real estate—one that transcends transactions and delves deep into the realm of human connection. Real estate, at its core, is a tapestry woven with threads of empathy, relationships, and understanding.

In a world where selling property often becomes a crucible of stress and uncertainty, our role emerges as a guiding light. We don't merely facilitate transactions; we become pillars of support, instilling confidence in the hearts of those traversing the complex terrain of real estate. Regardless of the challenges they confront, our unwavering assurance and empathy pave the way, ensuring that every step of the process is infused with reassurance and control.

In this nuanced journey, we find not just houses but homes, not just clients but cherished relationships. Real estate becomes a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the art of making profound differences in people's lives.

HOW HAVE WOMEN’S ROLES IN REAL ESTATE CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

The evolution of women's roles within the real estate industry has been significant since my initial foray into real estate. Over the past decade, there has been a discernible transformation in how women are perceived and treated within the industry. Previously, issues pertaining to the treatment of women were often overlooked or brushed aside, but recent years have witnessed a profound shift in awareness.

The spotlight has been cast on the disparities and challenges that women have faced in real estate, particularly in the context of gender-based sexualization. Although there is still progress to be made, there have been notable improvements. This positive change can be attributed to the emergence of a growing cohort of high-achieving women who are rising through the ranks.

Today, the industry increasingly values and respects women not solely based on gender, but rather on their accomplishments, dedication to their work, and the unique qualities they bring to real estate transactions. The inherent feminine characteristics that women naturally bring to the table are now being recognised, appreciated, and respected in the realm of real estate.

IT’S BEEN A CHALLENGING YEAR, ARE THERE ANY REAL ESTATE TIPS YOU COULD SHARE?

In the face of a challenging year, adaptability is key. For buyers, stay informed about market trends and be flexible with preferences. Sellers, focus on strategic home improvements to enhance appeal. Both parties, rely on expert guidance, prioritise financial stability, and embrace technology for seamless transactions. Patience and perseverance remain vital. Your trusted real estate agent is here to navigate this journey together.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

The best advice I've received as a real estate agent is the power of consistency. Consistent prospecting, following well-defined processes, and maintaining a proactive approach are the pillars of success in this industry. By staying committed to these principles, I've built lasting relationships and achieved positive outcomes for my clients, making every effort count in this competitive field."

DO YOU HAVE ANY FASHION & BEAUTY TIPS THAT YOU’VE LEARNED WHILE ON THE JOB?

I hold the belief that one's appearance should never eclipse the depth of their knowledge. In a professional setting, particularly when interfacing with clients, I have a strong preference for classic, sophisticated attire. It's crucial to exhibit respect in one's sartorial choices when dealing with families, couples, and individuals. I am particularly attuned to the length of my attire, especially when variations in seating arrangements can affect how an outfit is perceived. (Ladies, I'm sure you can relate; maintaining a polished appearance when wearing a skirt above the knees, especially when crossing one's legs, can be challenging.)

My preferred brands in this regard include Scanlon, Saba, Kookai, Cue, among others. These labels offer a selection of conservative neckline and hemline options, exuding a sense of sophistication, timelessness, and classic charm. My intention is always for my fashion choices to remain understated, allowing my expertise to take centre stage during home visits.

I adhere to a minimalist approach when it comes to makeup, favouring a classic look. My hair is always impeccably styled. In the early stages of my career, I often drew inspiration from the attire of airline hostesses.

Personally, I gravitate towards neutral tones and maintain a collection of versatile separates that can be mixed and matched effortlessly.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN WANTING TO START A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?

As a woman in real estate, my advice would be to embrace your unique perspective and strengths. Confidence is key – believe in your abilities and knowledge. Build a strong professional network, seek mentorship, and don't be afraid to negotiate. Stay informed about the market, be adaptable, and always prioritize integrity. Your passion and dedication will set you apart in this industry. Remember, you have the power to shape your own success story. Go out there and make it happen!
