HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN REAL ESTATE?

I’ve been a broker for eight years.

Started at Shore Financial and I’m still here.

IS IT YOUR DREAM JOB?

Yes, I love dealing with people on such a personal level and helping them achieve a property purchase which is in most cases the biggest asset acquisition most people will make in their life

BEST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

Running a successful broking business whilst having 2 kids. I managed to maintain my same volume through 2020 and 2021 where I had my children 13 months apart. It was a huge juggle and one of the most challenging times but I’m super proud of what I achieved through that period. It was also incredibly humbling to receive so much support from my referral partners and clients through that time when they knew I had my hands full.

WORST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

I haven’t had any stand out terrible experiences. Any hiccups along the way I’ve tried really hard to work on what went wrong and make sure it didn’t happen again.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT REAL ESTATE DURING YOUR CAREER?

Nothing is bought/sold/guaranteed until you have signed on the dotted line!

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT YOURSELF DURING YOUR CAREER?

Success to me looks and feels like a seamless, stress free, organised process and by achieving this (in addition to a competitive product) my clients are so incredibly appreciative. I love making people feel in control and secure on their property journey, and their gratitude is what drives me to keep doing better.

HOW HAVE WOMEN’S ROLES IN REAL ESTATE CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

There are a huge number more females in the industry, which is awesome to see, and there are so many at the top of their field.

IT’S BEEN A CHALLENGING YEAR, ARE THERE ANY REAL ESTATE TIPS YOU COULD SHARE?

Be consistent, use the quieter times to refine process, and look at the gaps in your service to keep improving your offering for clients.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

Treat every client like they are a four million dollar refinance.

ANY REGRETS REGARDING YOUR CAREER?

No regrets, although I would have loved to have started my career in broking even earlier than I did.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMeN WANTING TO START A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?

Go for it! Work hard and back yourself. View being a female as an advantage in the industry as you are in the minority group, and that sets you apart from the competition.

Always dress to impress, you never know who you’ll meet during your day!
