JOB TITLE: Sales Agent
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN REAL ESTATE?
13 years in the industry.
WHERE DID YOU START?
I began my career at an agency in Turramurra, where I had the privilege of working under Carla Poletto—an inspiring leader, a strong woman, and someone I still consider a friend.
IS IT YOUR DREAM JOB?
It’s become my dream job. At first, I pushed back—my dad encouraged me to take the course, and I resisted because I didn’t want to be that “cheesy” real estate agent. But the minute I started, I loved it. It was the perfect way to combine my past experiences in fashion and finance into one career.
BEST CAREER EXPERIENCES?
There have been a few! – My first auction had 50 registered bidders and filled the street. – Selling a stunning terrace in Lavender Bay with iconic Harbour Bridge views. – Representing one of my favourite clients six times—it’s always a dream partnership when we work together.
WORST CAREER EXPERIENCE?
Being told outright I wasn’t chosen for a listing because I’m a woman. It stung at the time, but I ended up selling a similar property nearby for a significantly higher price—not that I’m keeping score!
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT YOURSELF DURING YOUR CAREER?
That real estate constantly pushes you to grow. It’s made me more resilient and reflective, and taught me to always back myself. Doing the right thing has become second nature.
HOW HAVE WOMEN’S ROLES IN REAL ESTATE CHANGED SINCE YOU STARTED?
When I started, there weren’t many young solo female agents in my area. I still don’t see many women return to sales after maternity leave, but I do think we’re seeing more awareness and momentum towards change.
IT’S BEEN A CHALLENGING YEAR—ANY TIPS?
When things feel overwhelming, pause and put yourself in your client’s shoes. I draw on my years of experience—and now as a mum, I can approach situations with even more empathy and clarity.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?
“In your moments of decision, your destiny is shaped.”
ANY CAREER REGRETS?
Only that I didn’t find this confidence earlier.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN WANTING TO START A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?
Don’t be afraid to step into the role of an agent. Many women hesitate to go solo, but it’s so worth it.
FASHION & BEAUTY TIPS FROM THE FIELD?
Coming from a fashion background, I initially played it safe—but I felt most confident when I embraced my style. When you feel like yourself, you show up stronger.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?
Real estate gives me the flexibility to be a present mum while still growing my career. Coming back after maternity leave was hard—really hard—but I feel like I’ve found my rhythm again. There’s a new sense of achievement in that.
