HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN REAL ESTATE?

I have approximately 15 years of experience in real estate.

WHERE DID YOU START?

My journey began as a real estate receptionist in an agency, working on weekends while finishing school. It's where I discovered my love and passion for real estate, ultimately deciding to pursue a career in the field.

IS IT YOUR DREAM JOB?

Absolutely! Property valuation is my dream job. There isn't a day I regret not going into sales or another branch of real estate.

BEST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

Occasionally, you encounter "once in a lifetime" properties that make you feel privileged to value. I've had several "pinch me" moments that make being a valuer truly rewarding.

WORST CAREER EXPERIENCE?

As a valuer, I've seen both the best and the worst. It's particularly challenging witnessing poor living conditions, especially when children are involved. Mortgagee in Possession jobs can be tough, and these experiences tend to linger in your mind.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT REAL ESTATE DURING YOUR CAREER?

Real estate can be a highly rewarding investment if researched correctly. A valuer's insights can be invaluable in making informed decisions.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF DURING YOUR CAREER?

I've learned that women can have it all. Starting my valuation career right after university, I've successfully managed a career while raising three kids. It taught me time management, patience, and resilience.

HOW HAVE WOMEN’S ROLES IN REAL ESTATE CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

Traditionally male-heavy, property valuation is evolving. While there are still more men in the industry, women are gaining a strong presence. Valuation offers flexibility, making it rewarding for women raising families.

IT’S BEEN A CHALLENGING YEAR. ANY REAL ESTATE TIPS YOU COULD SHARE?

If unsure, seek professional help. A Valuer can provide not just market value but also advice on current market conditions and property risks crucial in the lending process.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

Talk to everybody. Information gathered through basic conversations can be crucial.

ANY REGRETS REGARDING YOUR CAREER?

Absolutely none. The past 11 years as a valuer have been incredibly rewarding, and I love what I do.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN WANTING TO START A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?

Be prepared to start at the bottom. Success in any form of real estate demands a high level of experience and expertise.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FASHION & BEAUTY TIPS LEARNED ON THE JOB?

Dress to impress. You never know whose door you'll be knocking on for that next Valuation.
