Off the Plan
Off-the-plan contracts are long, complex and written to favour the developer. We make sure you understand exactly what you're agreeing to.
We review the disclosure statement, draft plans and schedule of finishes, and explain the sunset clause and your rights if the project is delayed or varied. Where terms are negotiable, we push for changes that protect you.
Because settlement only happens once the plan is registered — often a year or more after exchange — we track the development and prepare you for settlement when registration finally lands.
Frequently asked
Off the Plan questions
- How long does settlement take?
- Most NSW and VIC residential matters settle 6 to 8 weeks after exchange. Off-the-plan and property developer matters can take considerably longer and depend on registration.
- Do I need to review the contract before I sign?
- Yes — always. Pre-purchase review is the single most valuable step in any property transaction, and we offer it as a stand-alone engagement.
